En ce jour de Fête des Mères, il apparaissait normal de vous proposer de la musique à l’image du visage de nos tendres mamans. Solaire, éclairante, inspirante, dansante, tel est la musique de OLUMA.
Cette musique qui pousse votre élan à tapoter du pied, dodeliner de la tête avec un sourire partagé par tout le public présent. Surtout, cette qualité de son qui fait que le groove de leur Afrobeat, dont Féla son inventeur et Tony Allen son pourfendeur de secousses de tambours auraient partagé avec joie cette dynamique.
« Cooking Time » est sorti le 5 Avril de cette année via le label danois : ONE WORLD RECORDS.
Cette proposition de haut vol est bien un voyage en soi. Afrobeat endiablé, Jazz suave, ils mêlent tour à tour des références maitrisées pour un ensemble parfaitement équilibré.
Si il devait être un plat, ce serait une proposition culinaire dans laquelle se conjugue le piquant d’un piment oiseau sur un lit d’arachide pilée avec un zeste de citron parfumant un poulet grillé et son riz nature.
Un plat apparement simple et parfumé, pour autant ce qui le rend riche, réside dans les accords et surtout l’envie de partage de sourires qui s’articulent avec, que seuls les ambiances africaines savent données.
Cet album est donc un excellent présent pour ce jours de Fête, il est en soi une farandole de notes joyeuses, douces, mélancoliques, pétillantes, astrales. Il faut aimer le beat, la vibration qu’elle procure est celle qui nous a relié à notre mère pendant notre développement premier.
Le rendre mélodique, suave, mélodieux, jazzy; c’est rassembler ces deux mondes.
OLUMA a été fondée en 2021 par le bassiste Gregor Nicolai, le batteur André van der Heide et le saxophoniste Roman Polatzky. Combinant des grooves denses et complexes avec des lignes de cuivres énergiques qui mènent à la virtuosité les improvisations sont le pain quotidien du groupe.
Cependant, la capacité de guider leur public flottant dans un monde de rêve harmonique léger, mais riche et luxuriant, est toujours présent. Les compositions instrumentales peuvent être classé comme groove global. André et Gregor ont commencé leur parcours musical au cours de leurs années sur la scène multiculturelle de Berlin. Ils partagent leur amour pour la musique groove faite à la main et leur passion pour des rythmes dansants.
Finalement, leur quête de musique les a amenés à Leipzig, où ils ont rencontré Roman et le reste du groupe avec un line-up international.
Le titre de l’album Cooking Time n’est pas venu par hasard : la musique est créée lors de sessions d’écriture conjointes, où les rythmes sont bricolés et les idées sont chantées. Le groupe aime non seulement partager la scène, mais aussi la table à manger. Le temps de cuisson est le
une musique parfaite pour cela et OLUMA fournit également l’ingrédient parfait.

On this Mother’s Day, it seemed normal to offer you music reflecting the faces of our tender mothers. Solar, enlightening, inspiring, dancing, such is the music of OLUMA.
This music that pushes you to tap your feet, nod your head with a smile shared by the entire audience present. Above all, this quality of sound which makes the groove of their Afrobeat, of which Féla its inventor and Tony Allen his slayer of shaking drums would have happily shared this dynamic.
« Cooking Time » was released on April 5 this year via the Danish label: ONE WORLD RECORDS.
This high-flying proposition is indeed a journey in itself. Wild Afrobeat, suave Jazz, they combine mastered references in turn for a perfectly balanced whole.
If it were to be a dish, it would be a culinary proposition in which the spiciness of a bird’s eye pepper combines on a bed of crushed peanuts with a lemon zest flavoring a grilled chicken and its plain rice.
An apparently simple and fragrant dish, however what makes it rich lies in the pairings and especially the desire to share smiles which are articulated with it, which only African atmospheres know how to give.
This album is therefore an excellent present for this holiday, it is in itself a farandole of joyful, sweet, melancholic, sparkling, astral notes. You have to love the beat, the vibration it provides is the one that connected us to our mother during our early development.
Make it melodic, suave, tuneful, jazzy; it’s bringing these two worlds together.
OLUMA was founded in 2021 by bassist Gregor Nicolai, drummer André van der Heide and saxophonist Roman Polatzky. Combining dense and complex grooves with energetic horn lines that lead to virtuosity, improvisations are the group’s daily bread.
However, the ability to guide their floating audience into a light, yet rich and lush harmonic dream world is always present. Instrumental compositions can be classified as overall groove. André and Gregor began their musical journey during their years in Berlin’s multicultural scene. They share their love for handmade groove music and their passion for danceable beats.
Eventually their quest for music brought them to Leipzig, where they met Roman and the rest of the band with an international line-up.
The title of the album Cooking Time didn’t come by chance: the music is created during joint writing sessions, where rhythms are tinkered with and ideas are sung. The group not only enjoys sharing the stage, but also the dining table. The cooking time is
perfect music for this and OLUMA also provides the perfect ingredient.

En este Día de la Madre, nos parecía normal ofreceros música reflejando los rostros de nuestras tiernas madres. Solar, iluminadora, inspiradora, danzante, así es la música de OLUMA.
Esta música que te empuja a golpear los pies, asentir con la cabeza con una sonrisa compartida por todo el público presente. Sobre todo, esta calidad de sonido que marca el ritmo de su Afrobeat, del que Féla su inventor y Tony Allen su asesino de tambores vibrantes habrían compartido felizmente esta dinámica.
« Cooking Time » fue lanzado el 5 de abril de este año a través del sello danés: ONE WORLD RECORDS.
Esta propuesta de alto vuelo es, de hecho, un viaje en sí mismo. Afrobeat salvaje, Jazz suave, combinan a su vez referencias dominadas para un conjunto perfectamente equilibrado.
Si fuera un plato, sería una propuesta culinaria en la que el picante de un pimiento ojo de pájaro se combina sobre un lecho de maní triturado con una ralladura de limón para aromatizar un pollo asado y su arroz natural.
Un plato aparentemente sencillo y fragante, pero lo que lo hace rico reside en los maridajes y, sobre todo, en el deseo de compartir las sonrisas que se articulan con él, que sólo los ambientes africanos saben regalar.
Este álbum es, por tanto, un excelente regalo para esta festividad, es en sí mismo una farándula de notas alegres, dulces, melancólicas, chispeantes, astrales. Hay que amar el ritmo, la vibración que proporciona es la que nos conectó con nuestra madre durante nuestro desarrollo temprano.
Hazlo melódico, suave, melodioso, jazzístico; está uniendo estos dos mundos.
OLUMA fue fundada en 2021 por el bajista Gregor Nicolai, el baterista André van der Heide y el saxofonista Roman Polatzky. Combinando ritmos densos y complejos con líneas de viento enérgicas que conducen al virtuosismo, las improvisaciones son el pan de cada día del grupo.
Sin embargo, la capacidad de guiar a su audiencia flotante hacia un mundo de sueños armónico, ligero, pero rico y exuberante, siempre está presente. Las composiciones instrumentales se pueden clasificar como groove general. André y Gregor comenzaron su viaje musical durante sus años en la escena multicultural de Berlín. Comparten su amor por la música groove hecha a mano y su pasión por los ritmos bailables.
Finalmente, su búsqueda de la música los llevó a Leipzig, donde conocieron a Roman y al resto de la banda con una formación internacional.
El título del álbum Cooking Time no surgió por casualidad: la música se crea durante sesiones de composición conjunta, donde se modifican los ritmos y se cantan las ideas. El grupo no sólo disfruta compartiendo escenario, sino también la mesa del comedor. El tiempo de cocción es
música perfecta para esto y OLUMA también proporciona el ingrediente perfecto.
